Snowman Cake Pop

Another 4 nights till Christmas, and another cake pop to release! ^_^ Given that's it's been raining, followed by harrowing winds this past week, it's only natural that my poor little snowman's melted a little and were dipped a little unattractively ... BUT we shan't judge a book by it's cover, the contents are, I quote:

"I JUST HAD YOUR AWKWARD LOOKING SNOWMAN HEAD. IT IS AMAZING ! I WAS CAUTIOUS AT FIRST ... then when i bit into it. wow. and it looked hella weird"

Always love receiving feedback from my friends! Especially the brutally honest xD

I've made cake pops WAY too many times now, I'm sure you all know which recipe I used! My trusted, Emma's Easy One Bowl Chocolate Cake recipe, perfect in every single way!  Here are the ingredients I used instead:

Ingredients:
Unsalted Butter at room temperature (125 g)
Caster Sugar (125 g)
Doves Farm Gluten Free Plain Flour (125g)
Eggs at room temperature (2 eggs)
Bournville's cocoa powder (6 teaspoons)
Baking powder (2 teaspoons)
Cravendale's Whole Milk (2 tablespoons)
Vanilla Extract (1 teaspoon)

Baking time! :)

Find the recipe and how to make the binding agent at my Cake Pop Fanatic recipe page (click on the link to access), or go to Emma's recipe, linked above.

Decorating time! :)
Ingredients:
Cooking white chocolate
Cake pop sticks
Icing pens

N.B: Cooking chocolate is thicker than normal chocolate, therefore reducing the chance of dripping and making a lot of mess! You can find them anywhere in the baking section of your local supermarket! :)

Don't forget you need to line a baking tray with greaseproof paper to place the cake pop onto dry after dipping. For more stability you can place a cupcake case under each cake pop after the first initial chilling period.

1) Melt the white chocolate, dip the head of the cake pop stick slightly into the melted chocolate, before poking it into the cake ball. Do that with every cake pop ball, as you complete one, place it into the fridge so you don't have to wait to start dipping. But if you don't, you should place them all into the fridge for a further half an hour.
2) After they have been chilled, dip the rest of the cake pops until they are completely coated, before carefully placing it onto the greaseproof paper. It helps if you can pour the melted chocolate into a deep container or mug, it makes dipping so much easier! :) Once you have covered all the cake pops completely, place them into the fridge until the chocolate has fully hardened onto the cake pop. It's likely it'll take a few hours, but you can keep checking up on it :)
3) Once completely chilled, take your icing pens and draw a snowman face and ta dahhh snowman cake pops! :D

As you can see, some of it didn't turn out very pretty, but it's okay if it tastes good right? :D I also brought black gel food colouring pen instead of an icing pen, hence why the black smudged so easily. Meh, it worked out :) Even if we don't get a chance to make a real snowman, at least we can say we made one this winter, even better, it's edible ;D

Stay safe & keep smiling,
